Baby-Toddler-The latest batch of the bilingual "Canticos" entries feature two popular Latin American nursery rhymes. All the Colors, a folk song often associated with Mexican culture, is brought to vibrant life in a lift-the-flap board book featuring characters from previous series titles. Little chicks, an elephant, a spider, and a bunny frolic through bright springtime scenes. The verso highlights the English lyrics, a translation of the traditional song "De colores," while the recto presents the Spanish-language original. The lyrics are subsequently followed by spreads in which colors are provided in English. Little ones can then lift the flap to find the Spanish translation. The cheerful characters will elicit happy giggles while teaching toddlers the colors in both languages. In Pin Pon, a doll made out of cardboard is a stand-in for children in this well-known lullaby. The origins of the song are unclear, but it was popularized by a Chilean children's TV personality in the 1960s. This adorable volume focuses on manners and personal hygiene in a kid-friendly way. Pin Pon washes his face and brushes his hair in the morning, holds his milk with two hands, does his homework before bed, and always listens to his mom. The interactive flaps are spread throughout. VERDICT Add these charming titles to your bilingual collections and feature them in baby or toddler story times. -Shelley M. Diaz, School Library Journal
